School Radon: Meet the July 1, 2027 Deadline

In Iowa, testing public schools for radon by July 1, 2027, is the law (Iowa Code 280.32). The EAIS School Radon Training & Support System is all school districts need to meet requirements and help prevent lung cancer. Since radon testing in Iowa territory should occur during heating conditions, the winter of 2026-27 is your last shot to meet the law.

Did you know:

  • School districts can save budget dollars by testing their own buildings with training that is Iowa HHS-approved.
