EAIS staff met on April 24 for team planning and fun session in Johnston.

The EAIS Board of Directors met for a strategic planning session on April 7. In addition to strategizing to engage more schools in the countdown to the July 2027 deadline for testing school facilities for radon, the Board refined our organizational beliefs.

Influencing our day-to-day decisions and shaping our culture, EIAS beliefs are as follows:

  1. Radon testing and mitigation prevent lung cancer.
  2. Energy saved is resources generated.
  3. Supporting Iowa’s public schools is a nonpartisan issue and is necessary for a thriving Iowa.
  4. The environmental and financial health of Iowa’s schools affects student achievement.
  5. Knowledgeable, effective, and appreciated local facility teams are essential to the success of a school district.

With these beliefs in mind and coming off a successful 2024-25 radon testing season, our staff (pictured, left) has turned our attention to applying these refined beliefs toward improving training and service delivery for 2025-26.
