Objects in mirror are closer than they appear: Register now for October radon test Kickoffs

It seems a long way into the future. After all, it’s about three years away. But when it comes to the State of Iowa mandate that all schools test their facilities for radon by July 1, 2027, it’s really just right around the corner.

Best practices require that radon testing is conducted in the winter months—January, February, and March. Multiply these three months by the three years leading up to the deadline, and there are only nine testing months remaining for action.

To support Iowa school districts’ effort to comply with this law, EAIS has your back. EAIS offers its School Radon Training and Support System (SRTSS) to its members. Radon test training workshops for 2024 will take place for new member schools in Cedar Rapids on October 15 and Johnston on October 29. Returning member schools slated for testing can attend one of two online training workshops on October 2 and October 4.
